Today in World War II History

65 Years Ago—March 22, 1945: Patton’s US Third Army crosses Rhine at Nierstein & Oppenheim at night, surprising Germans.

  2. Leticia - did you? How interesting! Where were you? We spent the summer of 2007 in Rheinau outside of Mannheim (long story) and it was an amazing summer. Germany is such a beautiful and interesting country.

  3. We were stationed in Germany for three years and lived on a small base called Dexheim, unfortunately years later the based was closed and torn down.

    One of my best-friends lived in Oppenheim and I was always at her house. It's a shame I didn't learn German!

    We lived in Dienheim as well.
