Today in World War II History

70 Years Ago—June 30, 1940: Germans occupy British Channel Islands (Jersey, Guernsey, and Sark).
65 Years Ago—June 30, 1945: Organized Japanese resistance ends on Mindanao in the Philippines.

  1. What a devastating day for the Channel Islands. My current WIP is set in 1940s Channel Islands. One of my British friends is from Guernsey and was a child there during the occupation. Why doesn't anyone know about this part of WWII history?!
