A little Valentine's gift...
The three of us are so excited to make this announcement! Tricia Goyer, Cara Putman, and I have signed a contract with B&H Publishing for a World War II novella collection called I'll Be Seeing You...at Christmas, coming fall of 2014!
I'm honored and excited to work with these two accomplished and energetic women, and I'm grateful for the hard work done by my agent, Rachel Kent, in organizing this project.
The novella collection follows three siblings from Lafayette, Indiana who experience World War II through the lens of varied experience. In a time when the future is uncertain and romance a risky venture, the love and wisdom of their grandmother centers them as they search for love and deeper faith.
White Christmas by Cara C. Putman. Christmas of 1942:
Jackson Lucas carries guilt over his father’s death like
a stowaway in his heart. And now he can’t even take care of his widowed mother.
Abigail’s lot is no better. She lost her siblings at a young age, and now she
protects the fragile pieces of her heart like a hand shielding a snow globe.
But as Christmas draws near, can each one face their deepest fear and discover
the gift of love?
I'll Be Home
For Christmas by Sarah Sundin. Christmas of 1943:
Fighter
pilot Lt. Pete Turner is running on empty, but coming home for Christmas
doesn’t help. When Grace Kessler’s little daughter decides Pete is her new
daddy, Grace is horrified. How can she trust her childhood bully? And will
Pete’s Christmas gift fill the empty places in their hearts?
These stories have already worked their way into our hearts, and we can't wait to share them with you!

ReplyDeleteSarah, I have been so remiss in thanking you for the prize box. I have enjoyed all of it ever since I got it. Life has just been so busy (no excuse, just why). My daughter moved to Alabama, I had a cancer treatment in Portland, Oregon; and I am going back to Portland tomorrow for a recheck. My life as it is lived. Oh yeah, I am teaching the adult Sunday School class until Easter. I cannot wait until I have your next book in my hands. Now I have another one to look forward to. =) Also want you to know, you are in my prayers. Your books are important to me in the manner of encouragement. (There is a deep thought there, you'll have to dig for that one!) Again, Thank you. Keep on keepin' on.
Cara - I'm thrilled to work with you and Tricia too! I'm so thankful you had the vision for this project and got us started.
ReplyDeleteCharity and Kate - you will love Cara's books!
I haven't read anything by Cara, but I love what I've read by you and Tricia. This sounds great! I would love to win your book.

I enjoy reading books that sweep me back into my grandparent's era. Both of my grandfathers served in WWII and have now passed away. When I read your books, I feel like I have a better picture of what life was like for them during the war. I am excited to read all three novels!

Three great authors in one book! This is exciting news. Besides the authors, I'm interested in this book because of the World War II and Christmas time period. Thanks for giving me a chance to win a copy of this book.
