Today in World War II History

70 Years Ago—Feb. 2, 1943: German Sixth Army surrenders to Soviets in Stalingrad—91,000 prisoners taken, of whom only 5000 survive the war. Australians counterattack at Wau, New Guinea.

  1. My oldest brother was a Medic in WWll. they were in Germany. Also several of my brother-in-laws, and some of our friends. two of the friends didn't make it back. They were brother-in-laws of one of my sisters.

  2. The medics did amazing work - and got very little credit. I'm thankful the soldiers universally appreciated them, because they deserved it.
